IGNORANCE ≠ BLISS

“My people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6)

We currently have front row seats to the destruction of Western civilisation, and our solution is usually to criticise what is happening while munching on spiritual popcorn. But that is not how you save a nation. Unfortunately, the ancient ways of calling down heaven on earth have been forgotten and replaced with the latest fads, resulting in the world having more power and influence over the church than vice versa.
Fortunately, we have examples in the Bible of men and women who still knew the secret of connecting heaven and earth.

BEFORE THE FIRE FALLS, THE ALTAR MUST BE REBUILT

“Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me. So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. (1 Kings 18:30)

We cry out for revival. We decry the moral decay of our nations, the erosion of truth, and the rise of confusion and compromise. But how many are willing to do what Elijah did? Before the fire fell, before the showdown with the prophets of Baal, before Israel declared, The LORD—He is God!, Elijah rebuilt the prayer altar. Not a flashy miracle. Not a viral moment. But a quiet, sacred act of restoration that involved effort.

The altar is the place of sacrifice, where self-will dies and worship rises. We want national awakening, but there can be no victory without sacrifice first. No fire without offering. Elijah didn’t begin with confrontation—he began with consecration.

We cannot call down heaven on a broken foundation. We must repair the altar. In our homes. In our churches. In our hearts. Revival doesn’t begin with noise. It begins with a sacrifice on the altar of consecration. No, it’s not sexy, but it is necessary!

The truth is, we are not waiting for God to send revival; He is waiting for us to bring Him our sacrifice.

PRAYER FOR REVIVAL

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with broken hearts, longing for revival in our lives, our churches, and our nations. We acknowledge that the altar of consecration has often been neglected, replaced by distractions and false comforts. We ask You to restore us to the ancient ways of connecting heaven and earth, just as Elijah did. Help us to repair the altars in our hearts, in our homes, and in our communities.

May we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You, that we might see Your fire fall again. We repent of complacency, of waiting for a move of Your Spirit while doing nothing to prepare the ground.
Father, we commit to rebuilding what has been broken so that Your presence can dwell among us once more. Ignite a passion for Your glory in our hearts, and let our lives be marked by the sacred act of consecration. May we not be satisfied with the status quo but hunger and thirst for true revival.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen.
