WAKE UP: THE PLANE IS LOSING ALTITUDE
“How did you go bankrupt?” “Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.” — Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises
There is a hum in the spirit when something is wrong. A tension in the air, a shiver of foreboding. You feel it in your wallet, your workplace, your worship. The headlines speak of “managed decline,” but that only means one thing: a controlled crash.
Britain—once a global beacon—is losing altitude. Day by day, we edge closer to the tipping point. Most remain oblivious, absorbed in comfort, screens, and small talk. But some are waking up…
This is for YOU!
THIS IS NOT NEW PROPHECY—THIS IS A PREDICTION
For more than fifty years, prophetic voices—David Wilkerson, Derek Prince, Leonard Ravenhill, A.W. Tozer, and many more—have accurately described the hour we now face. This post is not another “thus saith the Lord,” but a prediction grounded in:
Psychology: Under stress, we dissociate. We clutch at illusions until reality shatters. Hope is the last thing to die.
Sociology: Corrupt institutions collapse under their own contradictions.
Anthropology: Every civilisation that devours its roots perishes.
History:Righteousness → Blessing → Prosperity → Complacency → Corruption → Collapse, again and again. The last 80 years in the West is an anomaly, not the rule.
Theology: Scripture spells out God’s warning, our voluntary unravelling. Scripture is full of slow warnings and sudden reckonings. God’s judgment is often delayed, but never denied.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Repentance (returning) interrupts the trajectory. But it it must start with the Church. Otherwise, society as we know it will vanish… swiftly.
“Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until His wrath has passed by.” (Isaiah 26:20)
You alone bear responsibility for your repentance. Your salvation and your witness cannot be outsourced to pastors, priests, or politicians.
ALIYAH: WHY YOU MUST RETURN TO THE LORD
Aliyah (עלייה), meaning “ascent” in Hebrew, refers to the return of Jewish people to the land of Israel—a concept deeply rooted in Scripture and identity. More than mere migration, aliyah is a spiritual homecoming, seen as fulfilling biblical prophecy (Isaiah 43:5–6; Ezekiel 36:24). Since the 19th century, waves of aliyah have brought millions back to Israel from exile, driven by faith, persecution, or a longing for restoration.
But the true meaning of aliyah is much deeper.
The Hebrew word “Aliyah“ (עֲלִיָּה) comes from the root עלה (ʿ-l-h), which means “to go up,” “to ascend,” or “to rise.” This root appears frequently in the Hebrew Bible—used for going up to Jerusalem (Psalm 122:4), ascending the altar, or moving toward a higher spiritual state.
עָלָה (ʿālāh) – “he went up” (basic verb form)
עֲלִיָּה (ʿaliyah) – “ascent” or “going up” (noun form)
In ancient Israelite thought, Jerusalem was not only geographically elevated but spiritually exalted. So to make aliyah was both a physical journey up to Zion and a spiritual ascent toward God.
This same root appears in the phrase Olah korban (עֹלָה)–a burnt offering that “ascends” to God, which links us back to Romans 12:1. Aliyah is not a descent into safety but an ascent into destiny—implying that returning to the Lord is not merely a physical move but a divine elevation of status, purpose, and identity.
HOW CHANGE HAPPENS: EXPONENTIAL COLLAPSE
Complex systems don’t break slowly—they implode “exponentially.” A society can seem stable while stress accumulates beneath the surface. Then one day, without warning, everything unravels.
“The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.” (Albert Bartlett)
KEY MODELS OF CHANGE
Thomas Kuhn’s Paradigm Shifts (1962): Societies experience long periods of ‘normal science’ until anomalies build, triggering revolution.
Black Swan Theory (Nassim Nicholas Taleb, 2007): Unexpected, high-impact events occur when we ignore what we think is improbable.
Phase Transitions (Physics): Water boils at 100°C—until that point, it looks like nothing is changing. But beneath the surface, pressure is rising.
Tipping Point Theory (Malcolm Gladwell, 2000): Cultural epidemics spread like viruses; one small push can lead to societal avalanche.
PHASES OF CHANGE
Flat Phase: Growth or decay feels negligible.
Tipping Point: Hidden pressures align.
Sudden Phase: Collapse or transformation outpaces reaction.
This three-part pattern is deceptive precisely because the human mind is linear, while many natural, social, and spiritual processes are exponential. Here’s a breakdown of why each phase misleads the observer:
FLAT PHASE: “EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE”
Deception:False Stability
This is the calm before the storm—the phase where decay (or growth) exists, but at such a slow or hidden rate that it feels negligible. Systems appear “stable,” yet rot is quietly accumulating.
In economics: Inflation rises slowly… until it hyperinflates.
In culture: Values erode gradually… until inversion feels normal.
In spirit: A soul neglects prayer a day at a time… until it’s asleep.
Why it’s deceptive: People assume that because the curve is flat, the threat is flat. But they’re standing on a slope they can’t feel yet.
“The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.” — Albert A. Bartlett, physicist
TIPPING POINT: “THE INVISIBLE CRISIS”
Deception:Latent Pressure
Here, invisible forces (economic debt, social fragmentation, moral decay) align beneath the surface. No single event seems catastrophic—but combined, they create a fragile system on the edge.
This is the crack beneath the dam, or the last straw on the camel’s back. And still, people carry on: shopping, scrolling, mocking prophets.
It’s the weekend before the flood.
The day before the fall of Babylon.
The minutes before a power grid fails.
Why it’s deceptive: Nothing “looks” different. It’s the moment when those who are awake start to prepare… and everyone else says, “Don’t be so dramatic.”
“For they have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” (Jeremiah 6:14)
SUDDEN PHASE: “TOO LATE TO REACT”
Deception:False Reaction Time
This is the avalanche phase. Everything that was building explodes into full visibility. Collapse, like judgment, often appears to happen overnight—but it is simply the public unveiling of long-hidden decay.
Here, institutions fall, currencies fail, wars erupt, and people scream: “Why didn’t anyone warn us?” The answer is: They did. You just weren’t listening.
The fall of Jerusalem
Rome’s sack
The 1920’s crash
The 2008 crash
The lockdowns of 2020
What’s next? You’re living in it.
Why it’s deceptive: By the time people realise what’s happening, they’ve lost the time to respond. The curve shoots up (or down) too fast for systems or souls to adapt.
“While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come upon them suddenly…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:3
WHY IT’S DECEPTIVE
Before every collapse—of an empire, an economy, or a soul—comes a period of denial. Things look flat on the surface. Life continues. People get comfortable. But beneath, instability is accelerating.
This is exponential change. It feels gradual at first—then spirals out of control in what looks like a sudden catastrophe.
The slow-sudden pattern deceives us because:
Our brains prefer straight lines over compounding curves.
Comfort delays confrontation with uncomfortable truths.
Pride blinds us to warnings until it’s too late.
And spiritually? Jesus said it best:
“If the owner of the house had known what time the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into… You also must be ready.” (Luke 12:39–40)
THE GRAPH THEY NEVER SHOW YOU
This is a graph of an exponential curve.
Left side: “Everything feels fine.” Right side: “Collapse happens too fast to react.”
Right now, we are well into the right side.
The UK and wider West are now transitioning from the slow phase to the sudden phase. Once a tipping point is crossed, systems disintegrate faster than governments or families can adapt.
This is why your attention and focus is required now.
FOUR HISTORICAL “SLOWLY, THEN SUDDENLY” COLLAPSES
Rome (410 AD): Centuries of moral decay and political rot—then the Visigothic sack.
French Revolution (1789): Bread riots simmered for years; Bastille fell overnight.
Great Depression (1929): Roaring ’20s euphoria ended in a single week of market collapse.
Soviet Dissolution (1991): Decades of stagnation dissolved quietly—no shots fired, just a lowered flag.
Each collapse was preceded not by chaos, but by calm—a deceptive calm. The surface of society remained placid while the foundations eroded. The signs were visible for those with eyes to see: inflation, institutional rot, moral inversion, public cynicism. But instead of repentance or reform, there was denial—the stubborn insistence that tomorrow would be like today, and the next day too.
There was distraction—bread and circuses, endless media, petty culture wars, algorithmic sedatives to keep the masses pacified and docile. And worst of all, there was a refusal to heed the warnings—the prophets, whistleblowers, economists, historians, and watchmen who cried out from the walls.
They were labelled alarmists, mocked as extremists, or simply ignored. And so, the system drifted closer to the edge—deliberately deaf, comfortably numb, spiritually asleep. Collapse never comes without warning; it comes after the warnings are buried under laughter and the truth is traded for convenience.
TEN MARKERS OF COLLAPSE (SCHOLARLY CONSENSUS)
Radical Inequality: Societies rot when elites isolate from the poor (Piketty, Capital).
Loss of Social Trust: When neighbours distrust each other, civil cohesion collapses (Putnam, Bowling Alone).
Breakdown of Family: No nation survives long without strong families (Wilcox & Hymowitz, The Case for Marriage).
Widespread Nihilism: Without God or purpose, life descends into addiction, suicide, and despair.
Overdependence on Tech: Postman called it Technopoly—where tools become tyrants.
Civic Apathy: Low voter turnout, disengagement from public life (Mancur Olson).
Normalization of Perversity: Isaiah warned, “Woe to those who call evil good.”
Debt-Based Economies: All fiat systems end in devaluation or collapse (Reinhart & Rogoff).
Decline in Birthrates: Below-replacement fertility is a demographic death spiral.
Rejection of the Sacred: Once a society mocks the holy, judgment is near.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” — Proverbs 14:34
THE RISE OF AI: TOOL OR TRAP?
Artificial Intelligence is not coming—it is here. It’s organising your inbox, suggesting your next purchase, even composing sermons. It feels helpful now.
But like all exponential technologies, AI follows the same arc:
Convenience → Dependence → Control → Domination
Is AI your friend? For now. But one day you will wake up and realise… you are the servant.
“We built the machine, and then it rebuilt us.” (Marshall McLuhan)
WESTERN CIVILISATION AT ITS “LATE-STAGE EMPIRE”
Today’s West bears all the marks of a civilisation in decline. Like Babylon before its fall, we are feasting under siege.
Economic Overreach: $34+ trillion in US national debt.
Cultural Disintegration: Identity confusion, hostility to tradition, loss of sacred meaning.
Technocratic Tyranny: Trust in machines over morality, surveillance over sovereignty.
Spiritual Apathy: Churches empty, while the occult flourishes on TikTok.
In The Fate of Empires, Sir John Glubb identified the final phase of every great civilisation: the Age of Decadence. It is marked by frivolity, narcissism, sexual perversion, and a loss of will.
“A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honour.” (Proverbs 29:23)
BRITAIN’S ECONOMIC ENGINE IS STALLING
In 2024, UK car production hit 780,000 units. Once the UK aimed at making 2 million cars a year. This decline is the worst in 70 years (aside from pandemic losses).
Once a proud motor industry, Britain now imports more than it builds, with plants closing and jobs fleeing.
Gerald Celente, renowned trends forecaster, says: “The real jobs are gone. The only new jobs are low-paying service jobs… the economy is on artificial life support.”(Interview, Trends Journal)
The national debt? £2.7 trillion officially—but true obligations, including pensions and liabilities, may be ten times higher. As Celente bluntly states: “When the real crash comes… the banks will close, the ATMs won’t work. It’s not a conspiracy—it’s math.” People living in the real world know that math does not care about your opinion or feelings.
Average wage/Inflation: 55% of UK household now receive more benefits than they contribute in taxes. “When people have nothing left to lose, they lose it!” (Celente).
THE THREAT OF INSURGENCY: “WE’RE FRIENDS… UNTIL WE’RE NOT”
Professor David Betz, an expert on war and insurgency at King’s College London, gives a chilling forecast:
“The most serious threat to Western states today is not from foreign armies—it is from within. Civil war is no longer unthinkable.” (War on the Rocks, 2024)
He names the UK and France as top candidates for internal conflict—due to economic inequality, broken trust in institutions, and cultural fragmentation. According to Betz this is a highly likely scenario within the next 5 years as we are already deep into phase two of classic insurgency. This is not guesswork, it is applied science.
UK Defence Secretary John Healey, speaking on Sky News and GB News
on 1 June 2025, stated that,
“Britain has lost control of its borders over the last five years.”
Betz applies Chairman Mao’s three-stage insurgency model to Britain’s situation:
Phase 1 – Defensive: Radical factions focus on recruitment, propaganda, and community control.
Phase 2 – Stalemate: Insurgent groups establish base areas and conduct sporadic attacks.
Phase 3 – Offensive: Insurgents gain the strength to openly challenge state forces.
IF this doesn’t make you pray for escape, then nothing will.
“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)
We needn’t consult the good professor to know how these things unfold—recent history speaks plainly enough.
Consider Lebanon, once called “the Paris of the Middle East” for its elegance, culture, and cosmopolitan charm—until it wasn’t. Or Bosnia and Herzegovina, a land of neighbours, turned overnight into a battlefield of division and bloodshed.
This is not a drill!
A DISARMED NATION: NO NAVY, NO AIR FORCE, NO ANSWER
The debt is unpayable. The economy is hollowed out. You feel it in your energy bills, your rent, your taxes. Economic “cash cows” are now being slaughtered, not just milked. Fast Jet Performance—a former RAF pilot, flight instructor and whistleblower—reveals:
“Britain has no meaningful navy, no functioning air force, and an army that is a ghost of its former self… If real conflict breaks out, we’re not even in the fight.”
He is not the only one that has highlighted this reality.
WE ARE DISARMED, DISTRACTED, AND DANGEROUSLY UNDERPREPARED
This is not alarmism—it is reality. A hard, cold, sobering reality backed by data, history, and Scripture.
Credibility matters. Not image. Not slogans. Not bravado. No political speech. What matters in moments of crisis is what you can actually do, build, withstand, defend, and recover from. And on this front, Britain—as with much of the West—is dangerously exposed.
We have no navy to speak of, no air superiority, a depleted army, and a morally confused populace. Our economy is built on debt, our infrastructure is crumbling, our youth are spiritually anaemic, and our leaders trade truth for optics.
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)
If God does not sustain a nation—nothing will.
No amount of defence spending, policy reform, or diplomatic negotiations can save a people who have cut themselves off from the Vine. And here’s the core issue: the nation is not the cause. It is the mirror.
Politicians are a reflection of the nation, and the condition of a nation is just a reflection of the Church.
The crumbling of society did not begin in the corridors of Westminster—it began in the pulpits. It did not begin with economic mismanagement—it began with the Church abandoning her prophetic edge fuelled by the fire on the altar of prayer, replacing it with performance, applause, and worldly relevance.
When the Word of God is no longer central, confusion reigns.
When prayer is replaced by programming, power evaporates.
When holiness is mocked, and compromise is welcomed, judgement is inevitable.
What we see on the streets, in the markets, and in the news, is simply a natural outworking of spiritual neglect.
“Judgment must begin at the house of God…” (1 Peter 4:17)
This is not poetry or prose, it is truth. Until the Church repents, the culture cannot be healed. Until the altars are rebuilt, the walls will fall. Until we become salt and light again, we will continue to be trampled underfoot by the very systems we once helped shape.
“If the salt has lost its savour, it is good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13)
SLOWLY THEN QUICKLY
How did it happen?
It happened the way collapse always does: slowly at first, while the world applauded its modernity and ignored its fractures—then, suddenly.
A tipping point was passed. And everything changed. Fast.
What does insurgency look like? In our nations? In our churches? In our hearts?
This is not unique. This is human. This is prophetic. And this is where we are headed—unless we turn. It happens. Quietly. Relentlessly. Smiling… until it strikes. Just like collapse. Just like the enemy of your soul does.
CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL DECAY
We’ve traded truth for tolerance, meaning for memes, faith for feelings. Faith has been traded for consumerism. The sacred for spectacle. An anonymous UK commentator laments:
“We removed God from our culture and left an empty pit of hatred, tribalism, and nihilism.”
Meanwhile, the Church often watches in amused horror—munching “spiritual popcorn”—rather than calling for repentance and reconstruction. Jesus’ words to Laodicea scorch:
“Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I will spit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:16)
Matthew Henry notes:
“Lukewarmness is the worst state… for it tends to pacify conscience without reconciling the soul to God.”
And Derek Prince’s solemn reminder resonates:
“We say there are 30 million born-again believers in the USA. If that is true, we ought to be seeing revival. And if we’re not, something is desperately wrong. Jesus said if the salt loses its savour, it is good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” (Salt of the Earth teaching)
This is the endgame of the Enlightenment without God: intelligence with no wisdom. Technology with no restraint. Feelings with no truth.
BIBLICAL PATTERNS OF SLOW-THEN-SUDDEN JUDGMENT
The Days of Noah: “People were eating, drinking, marrying… until the flood came.” (Matthew 24:37–39)
Sodom and Gomorrah: Life went on… until fire fell. (Luke 17:29)
Jerusalem’s Fall: “Peace and safety!” they said… until Rome burned it down. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
The Thief in the Night: Jesus said destruction comes when we sleep. (Luke 12:39)
“Security makes way for surprise.” (Matthew Henry)
THE REAL SOLUTION: MIGRATE TO GOD’S ECONOMY
While the world’s system implodes, God’s economy endures—built on Jubilee, mercy, and Sabbath rest:
Rest for the burdened (Luke 11:28-30)
Debts forgiven (Deut. 15:1)
Land restored (Lev. 25:13)
Care for the poor (Psalm 140:12)
Abundant blessing through obedience (Deut. 28)
“But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” (Matthew 6:33)
It’s time to migrate, to transition, ro rise and “go up”—not geographically, but spiritually—from Babylon to Zion, from Caesar’s economy to Christ’s.
FOR THE WEARY WORKER: YOUR NEXT STEP
You’re not crazy and, once again, this is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill! If you’re working harder but falling behind, know: you’re not lazy or paranoid. The system is rigged. The goalposts move to keep you hustling. Yet you already know the antidote:
Internalise God’s word
Consecrate time to God’s presence
Build authentic, faith-filled community.
Simplify your life.
Give generously.
Practical steps will follow. For now, wake up, repent (rise and return), and align your heart with God’s economy.
REVERSE THE PROCESS: SLOW, THEN SUDDEN AWAKENING
You don’t get into trouble overnight and you are not going to reverse this overnight. We fell asleep by neglecting the Bread of Heaven—God’s Word and presence. But we can invert the collapse pattern:
Begin Slowly (but recursively)
Five minutes of Scripture at dawn.
Trade screens for face-time with the Lord.
Ten minutes of silence in God’s presence.
Compounding Effect
Each moment nourishes your soul, often imperceptibly.
Soon, the hunger for God intensifies.
You become spiritually stronger: first slowly then much faster.
Sudden Awakening
Hearts ignite (Luke 24:31–32).
Vision sharpens; joy returns (Proverbs 29:18).
You rise swiftly and irreversibly on eagle wings (Isaiah 40:31).
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
“those who wait on the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)
This is how you—and your nation—can be reborn.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
Am I asleep spiritually while society crumbles?
Where have I trusted worldly security over God’s?
Who around me needs this wake-up call?
How prepared am I spiritually, emotionally, and practically for sudden change or crisis?
What steps can I take today to begin my own ‘aliyah’—an ascent toward God’s purpose and destiny for my life?
A PRAYER FOR THE AWAKENED
Father,
rouse me from soul-sleep. Open my eyes to the storm around me, But plant my feet on the Rock beneath me. Teach me to feast on Your Bread, Ignite my heart with sudden fire, And let me live by Your Kingdom alone.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
MEMORY VERSES
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’” (Psalm 91:1–2)
