SPIRITUAL WARFARE IS REAL
In a sobering testimony, Riaan Swiegelaar—the former leader of the South African Satanic Church—revealed a chilling insight into spiritual warfare targeting our children. In February 2020, Swiegelaar co‑founded and became the presiding reverend of the SASC—South Africa’s first formal Satanist congregation.
Speaking candidly after his radical encounter with Christ, he described a technique used by Satanists: projecting intrusive thoughts into the minds of children and adults, then observing their responses. However, during these rituals, there were some children they could not reach. The practitioners described seeing a mysterious blue ring of fire surrounding these children—like a flame that blocked every attempt. Upon further investigation, they discovered the reason: these were the children whose parents daily prayed over them, covering them in the blood of Jesus Christ as they left the house. Swiegelaar concluded with a stark reminder:
“These are the things parents need to know. They need to know what their authority in Christ is.”
THE ENEMY IS ACTIVE—BUT NOT SOVEREIGN
Scripture warns us not to be passive:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
—1 Peter 5:8
The enemy is not omnipotent—he seeks whom he may devour. He needs permission, legal access, or spiritual negligence to infiltrate a life. This is why alert, spiritually active parenting is not optional—it is essential.
Parents are the gatekeepers. You set the tone. You draw the line. The devil knows your children are arrows (Psalm 127:4), and he wants to blunt them before they fly.
YOUR CHILDREN HAVE A DESTINY
God is not distant from your children. He is not indifferent to their minds, their future, or their formation. In fact, His Word gives a stunning promise:
“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
—Isaiah 54:13
This verse is more than poetry—it is prophecy. The Hebrew word for “taught” (lamad) implies discipleship, correction, and training. And “peace” (shalom) means completeness, wholeness, safety, and prosperity.
When you partner with God through intercession and spiritual discipleship, He Himself steps in to instruct your children supernaturally. He invades their thoughts with truth. He establishes peace where confusion once tried to take root. He builds a fire around their souls that no projection of darkness can breach.
WHAT IS THE BLUE RING OF FIRE?
Swiegelaar described how, in Satanic rituals, some children were entirely immune to dark spiritual influence. Practitioners said these children were “surrounded by a blue torch”—a ring of fire that blocked every attempt at manipulation. Eventually, they discovered the reason:
“Those were the children that their parents were praying for. Those were the children that the parents were praying the blood of Christ over every morning as they leave the house. So those children can’t be touched or projected to.”
The “blue ring” is a visible manifestation in the spirit realm of the blood of Jesus, invoked through parental prayer and authority. Like the blood on the doorposts during Passover (Exodus 12:13), it is a sign that says, “You shall not enter here.”
THIS ISN’T AN ISOLATED ACCOUNT
Riaan Swiegelaar is not the only one who has spoken of this mysterious spiritual immunity surrounding prayed-over children. Across numerous testimonies—from former witches, Satanists, occult initiates, and psychics who later surrendered to Christ—a consistent and astonishing pattern emerges: certain children simply could not be touched.
These dark practitioners reported seeing what they described as a blue flame, a glowing dome, a ring of impenetrable light, or angels standing guard around specific individuals—especially children whose parents were fervently praying, anointing, and declaring the Word of God over them.
One former occultist described it this way:
“There were some children we just couldn’t get into. It was like there was a presence surrounding them. No matter how hard we tried to project or curse, it was like throwing stones at a fortress.”
Another admitted:
“The children covered in the blood of Jesus—those we learned to leave alone.”
These confessions are not exaggerations—they are confirmation of what Scripture has declared all along:
“I myself will be a wall of fire around her,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be the glory within her.”
—Zechariah 2:5
This isn’t poetic hyperbole. It is a spiritual law. When parents pray, when families consecrate their homes, when children are raised in the atmosphere of worship, truth, and God’s covering—heaven responds with fire. Not fire that destroys, but fire that protects.
This divine firewall is not visible to the natural eye—but in the spirit, it blazes with clarity. The enemy sees it. Hell fears it. Demons are repelled by it.
PRAYER BUILDS SPIRITUAL FORTRESSES
When Christian parents wake up early to intercede, plead the blood, and speak Psalm 91 over their children, they are not being religious. They are building defensive structures in the spirit realm—walls of intercession, towers of truth, foundations of covenant.
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, both now and forevermore.”
—Psalm 125:2
- Every whispered prayer.
- Every Scripture spoken at bedtime.
- Every hand laid in blessing.
- Every anointed doorway.
- Every declaration of identity and peace…
It all builds up. It all forms the “wall of fire” Zechariah saw—a divine perimeter drawn by God Himself. And nothing unclean, invasive, or demonic may cross it.
- This is why some children are protected.
- This is why some homes feel untouchable.
- This is why you as a parent matter so much.
So rise up. You are not powerless. You are a builder of walls. A keeper of gates. A steward of fire.
PRACTICAL TOOLS FOR SPIRITUAL PARENTS
1. Morning Prayer & Covering
Start the day by praying the Blood of Jesus over each child by name.
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
—Revelation 12:11
Say aloud:
“I plead the blood of Jesus over [name]—over their body, soul, spirit, emotions, and thoughts.”
2. Anointing
Anoint your children’s doorposts and foreheads with oil. Invite the peace of God into their dreams (Psalm 4:8).
3. Pray Isaiah 54:13 Daily
Declare:
“My children are taught by the Lord. They have great peace. No weapon formed against them will prosper.”
4. Model Alertness
Let your children see you resisting the enemy. Teach them to speak Scripture, reject lies, and wear the armour of God (Ephesians 6:10–18).
5. Discern Spiritual Changes
Watch for changes in your children’s behaviour, language, or dreams. Don’t explain it away—pray it out.
DEVOTIONAL PRAYER FOR PARENTS
“A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION, PEACE, AND HOLY FIRE”
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for entrusting these children into my care. I come before You in humility, but with boldness, knowing my authority in Christ. Today, I plead the blood of Jesus over my child—over their mind, their heart, their body, and their spirit. Let no projection of the enemy take root. Let no voice of darkness echo louder than Your truth.
I declare that my children are taught by You, O Lord—and great shall be their peace. Where confusion tries to enter, replace it with clarity. Where fear tries to speak, let Your love silence it. Build a fire of protection around them—a ring of Your presence and glory. Let angels stand guard at every doorway, every hallway, every schoolroom, every playground, and every dream.
I cast all my cares upon You, for I know You care for me and my children. I will be vigilant. I will be sober. I resist the enemy in the name of Jesus—and I seal my household in Your covenant.
No weapon formed shall prosper. No lie shall stick. No seed of darkness shall grow.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
FIVE QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
- Do I fully believe that my prayers shape the spiritual atmosphere of my home?
- Have I been spiritually alert—or passively trusting the culture to disciple my children?
- What daily practices can I implement to establish God’s peace and presence in our household?
- Am I equipping my children to know God’s voice and resist the enemy?
- Do I speak identity, destiny, and truth over my children each day, even when I don’t see results yet?
