INTRODUCTION: THE PATHWAY TO DIVINE INSIGHT

The Bible is often approached as a book to be read, studied, or memorised. Yet for many, it remains a treasure chest whose gems seem just out of reach. We turn the pages faithfully, yet wonder why the words sometimes feel distant. How do we truly study the Bible? How do we unlock its living wisdom and make it actionable in our daily lives?

If you feel like there is a deeper understanding of Scripture that you can’t seem to access, this post is for you.

The answer lies not in quantity but in structure—a divine architecture that repeats patterns, principles, and truths. Among the most profound of these patterns is the triad, giving you a three-dimensional understanding as opposed to only a one-dimensional understanding. Across Scripture, God validates truth through threefold repetition, through multiplicity of witnesses, and through the interplay of heart, mind, and action. Understanding and applying these triads transforms Bible study from a passive exercise into a dynamic dialogue with God.

At HungryHeartsCollective.com, we celebrate the art of intentional, empowered study—where Scripture meets practice, insight meets devotion, and belief moves seamlessly into action. The triad is at the heart of this approach: threefold patterns that are simple to see but profound to live.

Why si this important?

Because triads are the three-dimensional basis for rock-solid faith.

BEGINNING WITH WHAT YOU KNOW: JACOB’S LADDER

Living as a Christian is not about obsessing over what you don’t know. Dwelling on abstract questions or so-called difficult mysteries often leads to frustration, wandering aimlessly, and feeling powerless. Instead, Bible study should begin with what you can clearly read and understand. Each insight becomes a rung on Jacob’s Ladder, giving you a foundation to stand on. When you build these rungs consistently, you ascend to a higher, empowered perspective, seeing life from a vantage point of clarity and authority. Study is about laying a foundation and then building on it brick by brick.

In short, begin where you are, and you will get to where you are going.

One practical tool for this is to use triads, a pattern of threes that runs throughout Scripture, giving clarity and confirming truth.

TWO OR THREE WITNESSES

Triads or patterns of three are part of the fundamental structure of creation.

“On the testimony of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed.”2 Corinthians 13:1

God embeds the triad into His Word as a mechanism of clarity and certainty. Important truths are confirmed multiple times from different perspectives, leaving no ambiguity. Consider the life of Jesus, attested by numerous accounts, fulfilled prophecies, and repeated teachings: the message is clear and undeniable.

Rashi comments: “Two witnesses confirm the truth, removing all doubt and establishing certainty.”

When studying Scripture, observe repeated principles. The first witness might be historical, the second prophetic, the third practical. Together, they create a complete picture that solidifies understanding. Without this threefold confirmation, teaching is incomplete and vulnerable to misinterpretation or doubt.

To be fair, you can sit on a stool with two legs, but it won’t be as stable as a stool with three legs. Ecclesiastes 4:12 confirms this,

“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

THY WORD IS MY COUNSELLOR

“Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.”Psalm 119:24

“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”Proverbs 11:14

Matthew Henry notes: “The Word of God is the best counsellor; it directs us with certainty and never misleads.”

The Bible is a living counsellor, guiding every step. To understand it fully, we must engage actively—read, meditate, and apply. This threefold approach ensures that study transforms the mind and spirit, moving beyond information into transformation with a strong foundation of truth.

MULTITUDE OF COUNSELLORS

The Bible itself contains a multitude of voices: historical narratives, prophetic insight, poetry, wisdom literature, and parables. Each provides a unique lens. Triads become more powerful when combined with guidance from mentors, study groups, and trusted commentaries. However, just because it is written in a commentary or spoken by seasoned Christians does not make it true. Triangulate Scripture using triads to remain on solid ground.

As Derek Prince says: “The Word, not men’s opinions, is the final authority.”

Remember that the Bible is self-authenticating.

THE TRIAD OF FAITH, CONFESSION, AND FULFILMENT

Consider these verses:

  1. Numbers 14:28: “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in my hearing, so I will do to you.’”
  2. Matthew 9:29: “According to your faith it will be done to you.”
  3. Romans 10:10: “With the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

These verses form a triad: belief, confession, and fulfilment. Each verse reinforces and confirms the others, showing that internal conviction, spoken declaration, and God’s action form a complete spiritual circuit. A brick in your house of faith against the storms of life.

Joseph Prince notes: “Faith, when combined with confession, releases God’s promises into your life” (cf. 2 Cor. 1:20).

EXERCISE

  1. Identify the keywords in these verses.
  2. Determine the topic or concept being addressed.
  3. Apply this triad to a practical example in your life.
  4. Reflect on how these verses applied when you first gave your life to the Lord.
  5. Record insights in a study journal.

ONE COMMON MISTAKE

We often read the Bible linearly, constrained by chronology and time. Yet Scripture is also a spiritual document where truth is not constrained by time. Viewing the Bible in parallel—turning the timeline on its side—reveals patterns and connections that may not be apparent in linear reading. This highlights triads across time and context, enhancing understanding.

David Wilkerson advises: “The Word of God is alive; see it beyond the confines of time and watch it transform your life.”

Remember, the characters, their settings, and their stories exist merely to illuminate a deeper truth. Though transient, the truth they reveal is eternal—and it is this truth we seek, not merely facts and figures.

DEEPENING THE PRACTICE: MULTILAYERED TRIADS

Explore multi-dimensional triads across Scripture. Consider Jesus’ parables: each layer (story, principle, spiritual reality) forms a triad. Reflect on the triad of body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Examine historical triads like Moses, Aaron, and Joshua, where leadership and faith converge. These layers show that God reveals truth through repetition and multiplicity.

Integrating layered triads helps you perceive Scripture’s invisible architecture. Patterns emerge: promises, principles, and procedures repeat, providing both understanding and empowerment. Faith moves from theory to practice when the triad is recognised and enacted. Remember what Jesus said:

“Seek and you will find.” —Matthew 7:7

Not maybe, but definitely. But you won’t find if you are not looking.

THE ROLE OF THE SPIRIT IN TRIAD STUDY

The Holy Spirit is the ultimate counsellor, guiding the reader into truth (John 16:13). Triads provide structure; the Spirit illuminates meaning. Invite the Spirit to highlight threefold pathways on various topics i.e. belief, confession, fulfilment; observation, meditation, action; problem, principle, solution etc. This partnership transforms study into dialogue, insight into wisdom, and reflection into a solid foundation.

PRACTICAL TIP: TRIAD JOURNALING

Create a Bible study journal structured around triads:

  1. Write the scripture.
  2. Ask yourself what the keywords/concepts are.
  3. Explore what other verses have to say on this topic.
  4. Record personal reflections and practical applications.
  5. Share the triad with someone.

Over time, this builds a documented record to internalise truth and stand strong in life.

FINALLY

The question remains: what powerful triads lie hidden within Scripture, waiting quietly for you to uncover them? These triads are more than patterns or curiosities—they are keys to understanding God’s design, His principles, and the rhythms of life that shape your faith, your decisions, and your destiny. Each triad offers a framework, a lens through which the eternal truths of Scripture become vivid and personal. To discover them is to step into a deeper intimacy with the Word, to see beyond the surface, and to align yourself with the divine order that has been there all along.

The invitation is clear: explore, meditate, and let these triads transform not just your knowledge, but the very way your live and experience of God’s great and precious promises.

FIVE REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS

  1. How does Numbers 14:28 show the connection between belief and divine action?
  2. How do heart and mouth function as complementary channels for faith?
  3. Where else in Scripture do triads reinforce truth?
  4. How does recognising triads enhance both comprehension and practical application?
  5. What obstacles prevent full engagement with the triad of belief, confession, and fulfilment?

FIVE INSIGHTFUL ANSWERS

  1. Belief sets the stage for God’s action.
  2. Confession bridges internal conviction with external reality.
  3. Triads repeatedly confirm truth throughout Scripture.
  4. Recognising patterns turns study into transformation.
  5. Doubt, distraction, or misinterpretation can block the triad’s full effect.

CONCLUSION: STUDY AS TRANSFORMATION

Bible study is not an academic exercise; it is an invitation to enter a triadic dance of belief, confession, and divine action. By recognising patterns, engaging Scripture actively, and partnering with the Spirit, study becomes a transformative practice that equips, strengthens, and empowers.

At HungryHeartsCollective.com, we celebrate intentional pursuit of God’s Word through triads. Study becomes more than understanding; it becomes a way of life, a method to internalise truth, exercise faith, and witness fulfilment. The Bible is your counsellor, the triad is your guide, and the Spirit is your companion. Together, they lead you into the living reality of God’s promises.

PRAYER

Lord, guide my heart as I engage Your Word. Reveal the triads hidden in Scripture and teach me to believe, confess, and witness Your fulfilment. May my study transform my life, my speech, and my actions. Amen.

Begin with what you know, build on it step by step, and engage Scripture through triads for clarity, empowerment, and transformation.
